Jianye Zou (Jenny) is a freelance illustrator, graphic designer, picture book artist, riso printing enthusiast, and traditional calligrapher based in Long Island, New York. She holds a bachelor’s degree from Zhejiang University and later earned an MFA in Illustration from Syracuse University. She is currently a member of the Society of Illustrators of Los Angeles (SILA) and a recipient of professional illustration awards from organizations and publications such as WIA and 3x3 Merit.
Jianye ’s practice centers on exploring original graphic expression through simplified geometric forms and linear compositions, while subtly integrating soft color palettes, patterns, and understated textures. She favors layering colors and textures to generate unexpected visual outcomes, infusing each work with her distinct emotional sensibility—whether restrained or intense—embracing both with equal openness.
Jenny loves to explore original graphic art with simple shapes and a few line works, combining soft colors, patterns, and textures. In her dreams, she draws buildings, forests, animals, and other imaginary things. Also, paper products, packaging, and album and book covers are her abiding passions. Her artistic journey is not limited to her formal education. She is deeply intrigued by the rich folklore and local customs of East Asian countries. Her curiosity knows no bounds, and she is always eager to learn anything interesting about these cultural aspects from anyone...
