Jianye Zou
Jianye (Jane) is a young Chinese illustrator and traditional Chinese calligrapher based in Syracuse, NY. She majored in traditional Chinese calligraphy for 4 years at Zhejiang University, Hangzhou, and then turned to illustration art at Syracuse University for 3 years of further study.
Jane loves to explore original graphic art with simple shapes and a few line works, combining soft colors, patterns, and textures. In her dreams, she draws buildings, forests, animals, and other imaginary things. Also, paper products, packaging, and album and book covers are her abiding passions.
Jane's artistic journey is not limited to her formal education. She is deeply intrigued by the rich folklore and local customs of East Asian countries. Her curiosity knows no bounds, and she is always eager to learn anything interesting about these cultural aspects from anyone.
